hether you're on the phone, searching the internet, or going shopping, using a wedding binder will keep all your information organized and accessible, in one easy to find place. It's ready to go and easy to carry when you're out and about doing your wedding errands. It will save time and reduce frustration to have the information with you.

These basic items will get you organized:

Start with a fun picture of you and your fiancee’ - it reminds you why all these zillion errands are worth it. Either tuck the picture into the front cover of your binder (if it has a clear sleeve), or slip it into a page protector and make it the first page in your notebook.

Next, write out your wedding “to do” list. A month to month list is helpful to make sure you've thought of everything. If you want help with the checklist items, you should be able to find wedding organization templates on the internet and then customize them to fit your own needs. As you complete an item on your list, use the highlighter to mark that item done.

It also helps to have a yearly calender, for scheduling dates and appointments. These can be printed from Outlook, WordPerfect, etc, or downloaded from wedding planning sites on the internet.

Keep a list of all contacts (names, phone numbers, quoted times and prices). If available, use their business card. Tape to piece of paper and slip into a page protector. As contracts are signed, place the paperwork into the page protector with your notes.

Like the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Take all the pictures of ideas (you've pulled out of magazines or printed from the internet) and put them in page protectors. These will include pictures for your wedding dress, your jewelry, your flowers, your bridesmaids, and other items you're looking for. It’s much easier to show the bridal vendors an idea of want you want, then trying to describe it.

After you have decided on your dress, have pictures taken of you wearing the dress. This is probably the most important picture in your binder. All your bridal accessories will be chosen to complement your wedding dress. To have this picture with you will make it much easier to select your wedding jewelry and other wedding accessories.

Keep samples of wedding colors and color swatches. It reduces the guesswork when trying to match colors, whether it be flowers, bridesmaids dresses and jewelry, or table decorations. With so many color hues and shades, it is too difficult to go from memory alone.

When searching for your wedding jewelry, you may not find exactly what you want, and will want to consider having your jewelry custom made. It will be very helpful to be able to show the jeweler a picture of your dress, wedding colors, and pictures of ideas of what you want.
